Description

The Western Red Cedar Channel Board's natural aroma, warm tones, and dimensional stability make it ideal for withstanding high temperatures and humid sauna environments. This profile comprises a tongue and groove design and is suitable for secret nailing. Presenting a 5mm channel between each interlocking section, the edges are slightly rounded, providing a sharp contemporary profile for the modern sauna.

The 85 x 9mm option offers the same face profile as the 11mm thick version, with the rear face as a sawn finish. The 85 x 9mm channel board requires support battening at maximum 450mm centres.

We don’t build saunas, but our partner company Natura Sauna specialises in building high quality custom saunas across Australia. You can contact them directly for design and installation services.

Our timber selection is informed by extensive real-world use within sauna environments. We have personally visited and inspected the timber from various mills in Canada. Through years of hands-on experience, our partner company, Natura Sauna, has tested and refined the use of various timber species and profiles, helping to identify the materials that consistently perform well under sauna conditions. This experience allows us to offer sauna timber that resists warping, splitting, and excessive movement over time. We don't sell anything we wouldn't use ourselves, so you can be assured of the quality and suitability of the timber we sell.
